May 4th Challenge - It's that time again

Wow, it's been a while =) If you've forgotten, my name is Michael, and I'm the concierge here at the Cafe. It's been a while since we've had a challenge here at the Cafe, so I thought I'd start things off again with something fun and simple.

The challenge is to design a watch that may belong to a famous person or character. What might Iron Man's watch look like? Or the Hulk? Or Hillary Clinton's =)

Superman's watch might have a Kryptonite detector on it, MC Hammer's watch might just say "Hammer Time!". The trick is to design a watch that says "Spider-Man", without having to say that it's Spider-man's watch. Use color, design and well known elements of the person or character to give it their style.

You're welcome to state who's watch it is, but I think the better entries won't have to.

Prizes

What better way to reward a great gadget entry than with a great gadget!

First Place
Will receive an 8gb iPod Nano.
Second Place
Will receive a 4gb iPod Nano.
Third Place
Will receive a $50 iTunes gift card.

Rules and Conditions

Entries will be accepted until midnight on Sunday, May 4th. Judging will be done online by any member of the cafe with a gallery that's willing to vote =)

Submissions must be a JPG image. The image cannot contain your name or email address anywhere on it, although you are welcome to post works-in-progress to the Cafe gallery or Cafe forums. Final submissions should be sent to me, Michael (michael@stratacafe.com) with an indication in the subject line that it's a final entry for the challenge.

The 3D rendering in this challenge must be completed entirely in a Strata Product (any version of Strata 3D or Design 3D[in]). Modeling can be done in Strata 3D, or another app and imported into Strata 3D for rendering. If you don't own any version of Strata 3D, you can can download a 30-day, fully functioning demo of Strata 3D CX 5.5 here!

Photoshop, Illustrator, or other image editors or page layout programs may be used for post-processing, texture creation or page layout.

Any amount of post work may be done in Photoshop or other image editors, but try to avoid excessively "hand painting" the image.

These rules may be subject to change without notice before the close of the contest.
