I'm working on this simple model and I'm having an issue where there is this strange white line between my ground plane and a shape that is rising out of the ground plane. You can see a close up of it here.

I have changed the texture on both the ground and the object and it has no effect. It doesn't matter how dark or light the textures are, that line still shows up in the render.
Any ideas? |

we probably don't have enough context to tell from that snippet of an image. can you post a file with just those two pieces, so we can check it out?

The first guess would be too much light being pumped into the scene by the objects' textures, But Jean is right, a text test file would be the only way to be certain.

make that an .s3d file. I think when Britt typed "text" he meant "test." (I read Britt-ese pretty well, because it is very close to my native typing approach.)

and, the test file should have the same environment, lighting, materials, etc. as the working file. We just wouldn't need any additional geometry, probably.

Jeff, I get the line to go away if I add a slight thickness to the walls, rather than leaving them as a single polygon.
The bottom edges of the walls are also a bit above the surface. You will probably have to get them extremely close to the surface, or sitting exactly on the surface, or even passing through the surface to totally get rid of anomalies there.
Others may find other approaches, but the thickness is what really makes a difference for me.
