Foto3D model - Hipopotam by Xavier Mestres« Previous Image Last page in History Next Image »
Artist's Comments: For a new architectural project for the Zoo of my city, I need to include some animals on the second plane, to give more realism to the scenes. Actually I do not need very much detail in the animals, so I have tried of some models realized with Foto3D from plastic toy figures.

Thank you for the comments. Dale I know Schleich, it has very good reproductions of animals. This figure is of Bullyland, and also it is very well realized. Both brands are German. John, To do the hippopotamus I have been late approximately 5-6 hours. 20 minutes to make the photos and them to come out into the computer (the photographic set is always ready to work). 2-3 hours in Photoshop preparing the photos. (Though the whole process of masks you can do it in Foto3D, I prefer Photoshop, I handle it better and more quick). 2 hours in Photo 3D correcting automatic masks and trying the image. After exporting it, I dedicate 10-15 minutes to arranging the map of texture generated in Foto3D from Photoshop. Evidently it would be late much more modeling the object manually.

Very convincing. I will have to consider this option. Can you give me an idea of the time involved to create the hippo?

Fantastic!! May I suggest figures designed by Schleich? They are quite realistically and richly detailed.
